The 2027 TOPIK schedule was announced on September 29, 2026 by Korea's Ministry of Education and NIIED (the National Institute for International Education). There will be 15 tests in 2027: 6 paper tests, 6 computer tests and 3 speaking tests. The first one is PBT 110 on Sun, Jan 10, 2027 — in Korea only.
Two words you will see below:
- - PBT (paper-based test) — the classic TOPIK on paper. Most people take this one.
- - IBT (internet-based test) — the same TOPIK I or II, but on a computer at a test center. Results come out faster. It is held in 12 countries, including Korea.
⚠️ All registration periods below are for Korea. Registration dates outside Korea are different in every country — your local TOPIK office announces them.
PBT (paper test) — 110 to 115
| Test | Where | Registration (Korea) | Test day | Results |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 110 | Korea only | Tue, Dec 8 – Mon, Dec 14, 2026 | Sun, Jan 10, 2027 | Thu, Feb 4 |
| 111 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Jan 26 – Mon, Feb 1 | Sat, Apr 10 – Sun, Apr 11 | Mon, May 31 |
| 112 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Mar 9 – Mon, Mar 15 | Sat, May 15 – Sun, May 16 | Thu, Jun 24 |
| 113 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Apr 20 – Mon, Apr 26 | Sat, Jul 3 – Sun, Jul 4 | Thu, Aug 12 |
| 114 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Aug 3 – Mon, Aug 9 | Sat, Oct 16 – Sun, Oct 17 | Thu, Dec 9 |
| 115 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Aug 31 – Mon, Sep 6 | Sun, Nov 14 | Thu, Dec 23 |
All dates are in 2027 unless the year is shown.
Why do some tests have two days? The official plan only says "Saturday–Sunday". You do not take the test twice — you take it on one of those days, depending on your region. In 2026, tests in Korea were on Sunday and some regions abroad took them on Saturday. Check your exact day on your admission ticket or your local TOPIK office's notice.
IBT (computer test) — 17 to 22
| Test | Where | Registration (Korea) | Test day | Results |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 17 | Korea only | Tue, Dec 15 – Mon, Dec 21, 2026 | Sat, Feb 20, 2027 | Fri, Mar 12 |
| 18 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Jan 12 – Mon, Jan 18 | Sat, Mar 20 | Fri, Apr 9 |
| 19 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Apr 6 – Mon, Apr 12 | Sat, Jun 12 | Fri, Jul 2 |
| 20 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Jul 6 – Mon, Jul 12 | Sat, Aug 28 | Fri, Sep 17 |
| 21 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Aug 17 – Mon, Aug 23 | Sat, Oct 23 | Fri, Nov 12 |
| 22 | Korea + abroad | Tue, Sep 21 – Mon, Sep 27 | Sat, Nov 27 | Fri, Dec 17 |
Every IBT is on a Saturday, and results come out about three weeks after the test — much faster than the paper test.
Speaking test — 13 to 15 (Korea only)
| Test | Registration | Test day | Results |
|---|---|---|---|
| 13 | Tue, Jan 12 – Mon, Jan 18 | Sat, Mar 20 | Mon, Apr 12 |
| 14 | Tue, Apr 6 – Mon, Apr 12 | Sat, Jun 12 | Mon, Jul 5 |
| 15 | Tue, Aug 17 – Mon, Aug 23 | Sat, Oct 23 | Mon, Nov 15 |
The speaking test is separate from TOPIK I and II and has its own score report. In 2027 it is held only in Korea.
If you take TOPIK outside Korea
- - PBT 110 and IBT 17 are in Korea only. Abroad, the first chances in 2027 are IBT 18 (Mar 20) — if your country runs the IBT — and PBT 111 (Apr 10–11).
- - Registration dates are different in every country. The table shows Korean dates only. Do not wait for those dates — follow your local TOPIK office (often an embassy, Korean Education Center or university).
- - Which tests your country runs is decided locally. Not every country holds all six PBT tests. Check your local office's announcement or topik.go.kr.
- - Two-day PBT tests: your test is on Saturday or Sunday depending on your region — your admission ticket shows which.
- - Speaking test abroad: the plan says a second pilot round abroad will be run separately in 2027, and regular speaking tests abroad are planned from 2028.
Other news from the same announcement
- - New TOPIK from 2029. A TOPIK reform committee (formed in October 2026) will publish the new test design by June 2027. It will be piloted in 2028 and used from 2029. The plan includes AI-assisted question writing and scoring (always checked by human experts) and a TOPIK home test, starting step by step from 2029 with lower levels that are not directly used for study or visa purposes. Nothing changes for the 2027 tests.
- - Tougher penalties for cheating. Taking the test for someone else, leaking test papers or using fake ID will lead to a 5-year ban from TOPIK (the maximum was 4 years). During the ban, scores cannot be submitted to universities. Using AI glasses and other AI devices will be clearly banned. These are planned changes to the law.
- - Fewer accepted IDs (planned). The government plans to accept only a few ID types, such as an original passport or a Korean alien registration card. The start date is not set yet — always check the ID rules in the registration notice for your test.
Test fees
The 2027 announcement does not list fees. For reference, these were the 2026 fees in Korea:
| Test | TOPIK I | TOPIK II |
|---|---|---|
| PBT | 40,000 KRW | 55,000 KRW |
| IBT | 70,000 KRW | 95,000 KRW |
| Speaking test | 80,000 KRW |
The 2027 fees will be in the registration notice for each test on topik.go.kr. Fees outside Korea are set by each country — ask your local TOPIK office.
Pick your test, then start preparing
Choose your test by working backwards from your deadline: a TOPIK score is valid for two years from the result date. If you are not sure which level to aim for, see our TOPIK levels and score table.
Then find out where you are now — solve real TOPIK I questions or TOPIK II questions on TOPIKly and see your estimated level right away.
